Image Poem - The Orchid Pavilion

The work ‘Image Poem about The Orchid Pavilion’ uses Chinese characters to reconstruct a scene depicted in the ‘Lanting Preface’ scrolls by the famous Chinese painter Wen Zhengming of the Ming Dynasty as a gathering of literati. It also defines the scene as a modern leisure space ‘Lanting Park’ from the perspective of contemporary life. The work uses a panoramic surveillance monitor to depict representative figures from everyday life, such as security guards, students, tour groups, residents, video anchors, etc., to show the audience a glimpse of contemporary leisure life. It explores the possibilities of fusing tradition with contemporary aesthetics.
